Lauren Beukes is our guest today at 12pm SLT. Her latest novel “Afterland” has a global pandemic that only affects men … spoiler alert: it is not the dream scenario women’s liberation advocates have been fighting for! We will go deep into Lauren’s early work as well, especially the excellent “Moxyland” which features an oppressive police state and, as Lauren calls it, “corportate apartheid”, a resurgence of apartheid in her home country of South Africa, this time based on socio-economic status.
