Neema Shah is our guest today. Her debut novel “Kololo Hill” deals with the sudden uprooting of a family in Uganda in 1972. Being expelled from a country due to ethnic origin in the midst of civil unrest is a topic dear to Drax’ heart as his family fled from Poland to Southern Germany at the end of WW2.

We will not equate these two incidents, we will not engage in “What Aboutism” but we will bring into focus the universal right for longing for a home.

We will attempt to connect the dots, contextualize, historicize and also celebrate a debut novelist by properly grilling her on how she broke into the publishing industry.
