Nick’s “The Second Shooter” is hyper-timely social critique/satire wrapped into a fast-paced very-near-future thriller and Cara’s “Ruin” proofs without a doubt to the literary connosieur Monsieur Drax that this master storyteller can handle both kind of forms: long and short.
